For achieving its goal and objectives, RKH carries out the following professional services under the four key working areas:
Beside the above mentioned key services, RKH prepares feature and in-depth stories. It focuses on development journalism rather than the formal news stories. It is planning to operate online news portal and feature news service for all the publications in both English and Nepali language.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT STRENGTHENING covers wider range of services to the local government. Preparation of periodic plan, social audit, capacity development plan preparation and support for implementation, preparation of municipal legislations, capacity development of the elected representatives and staffs, preparation of guidelines and manuals come under this service area.
Aiming to strengthen the local government, RKH facilitates various training and workshops for elected representatives and local government staffs to build their capacity for meeting the required knowledge, skills, attitude, behavior and practice.
It prepares policies, legislations, procedures, directives and plans of the local governments. Similarly, it carries out O&M survey, GESI audit, perception and users’ satisfaction survey, capacity assessment of the elected representatives and staffs, budget analysis and social audit.
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND PROFESSIONAL WRITING covers change documentation, impact assessment of the projects, feature writing, case study writing, thematic book writing, thematic professional writing and outcome of the annual program of the local governments. Social assessments and report preparation, perception analysis and report preparation also come under this area.
INSTITUTIONAL AND INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY BUILDING covers the professional level training packages to the development professionals, NGO staffs, CSO staffs, CSO management committees and executive boards, monitoring committees of the organizations.
Similarly, it covers special training packages to the thematic committees of the local government, preparation of detail monitoring guidelines and training to the monitoring committees of the palias on participatory and indicator-based monitoring system, participatory planning process, participatory legislation making.
Training on Rights-Based Approach (RBA), Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), Women’s Rights, Child Rights, Child-Friendly Local Governance (CFLG), Environment-Friendly Local Governance (EFLG), Total Sanitation, WASH SDG, Proposal and Report Writing Training, ICT training to the teachers, and Violence Against Women (VAW).
Similarly, it develops special training packages as per need of the clients.
Concludingly, RKH aims to contribute directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions are the areas where RKH interventions can make direct contribution.
